I love to do almost everything on bed. Including dining in bed. What about you?
The first night in Bali we did not have the chance to get a good restaurant for supper, so we made the driver to stop by a mini mart and grabbed 2 Indonesia instant cup noodles and a pack of pork skin crisp. I boiled water using the kettle provided in the room (kettle is essential to all instant noodle lover), and produced 2 cup of hot noodles within 10 minutes. Each of us hold a cup of hot noodle, sitting on the bed and enjoyed it with an unknown movie. It was a cozy night.
(p/s: The Indonesia style instant noodles were so tasty, especially the dry noodle.)
Just to stay away from the crowd, we decided to have another dining in bed on the second night after a great massage in Lagoon Spa. This time we ordered room service. If you had stayed in hotel frequent enough, I’m sure you know that ordering room service is like a gamble, you never know the quality of food until you put it in your mouth. But that’s always exciting to me.
After 20 mins, the door bell rang, it must be the room service. The staff served the food that we ordered through phone. A Satay, a Balinese grill and a Tom Yum soup. We moved the food to our bed as the staff stepped out of our room, and could’t wait to start eating.
The beef/chicken/mutton satay served with a generous of peanut gravy was crazily delicious and the Balinese grill — fish paste that comes on lemon grass skewer was just unforgettable. Not to forget the Tom Yum soup, although it was a Thai cuisine but they have a great skill in transforming it to another level by using the local ingredients. You can’t believe that we licked the bowl for the last drop of it.
It was rare to get such a divine food from room service. If you’re there in The Bene Hotel, undo your hair; remove your makeup and indulge yourself with a laid back dinner in your bed!
